About Us

Leave No Paw Behind

I’m Alexander, founder of PackedPaws.

PackedPaws started because of a stray cat named Buddy.

In early 2026, I spent months in Cebu, Philippines. Every night the same orange and white cat showed up outside. He’d curl between my feet, roll on the pavement, follow me around the block. I started calling him Buddy. He doesn’t have a home — but he has a story. And that story is why this site exists.

What PackedPaws Is

PackedPaws focuses exclusively on adventure cats, outdoor safety, breed research, gear reviews, and travel-focused cat ownership. We cover everything that matters for owners who want to take their cats further:

  • Breed research. Which breeds actually handle hiking, camping, and RV life — and which ones don’t. Honest guides on temperament, cold weather tolerance, harness training, and outdoor suitability for Bengal, Maine Coon, Savannah, Siberian, Norwegian Forest Cat, and more.
  • Gear guides. Harnesses, GPS trackers, backpacks, carriers, catios, cooling mats, and everything else an adventure cat owner needs — reviewed honestly.
  • Safety and training. How to introduce a cat to hiking. What to do when your cat freezes on the trail. How to handle coyotes, hawks, snakes, and bear country. What panting after a hike actually means.
  • Breeder directory (coming soon). State-by-state directories of health-tested, registered breeders for the adventure breeds — so you can find a reputable kitten without the guesswork.

Why We Built This

Most cat content on the internet is generic. “Bengals are energetic.” “Consult your vet.” “Cats need food and water.”

PackedPaws is built for owners who want specifics. How cold is too cold for a Maine Coon on a winter hike? What questions should you ask a Savannah breeder before you hand over $5,000? Why does your cat keep escaping their harness and what actually fixes it?

We write the guides we wish existed when we started.

The Gear Side

We’re also developing cat adventure gear — starting with an integrated harness and paw protection system designed so boots actually stay on. That’s a harder problem than it sounds. We’re working on it.

Leave No Paw Behind

Leave No Paw Behind isn’t just a slogan. It’s the philosophy behind everything we build.

It means helping cats live safer, fuller lives — whether they’re hiking mountain trails, traveling in RVs, or surviving as strays like Buddy.

Every guide we write, every piece of gear we develop, every breeder we vet is part of the same idea: cats deserve better information, better gear, and better outcomes. All of them.
